What you will do:

  • Direct the 2nd shift activities of a busy Central Distribution Center. 

  • Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. 

  • Review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action

  • Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel.

  • Ensure that staff are appropriately trained in multiple warehouse functions, to assist in balancing staffing needs while fulfilling customer orders. 

  • Communicate status updates throughout the evening with other shift managers and provide an overall evening summary at the end of the evening. 

  • Analyze the current operations and make recommendations on expense and cost control.

  • Lead with a safety mindset by regularly inspecting the facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them as appropriate.

  • Ensure that the warehouse personnel have safe and efficient equipment to perform their functions. 

  • Motivate employees to meet productivity goals and efficiency goals.  

  • Promote and adhere to warehouse safety programs to provide employees with a safe and clean workplace. 

 

What you will bring: 

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish. 

  • Prior warehouse management experience. 

  • Strong communication skills. 

  • The ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. 

  • The ability to obtain certification in the operation of powered industrial trucks including but not limited to, pallet jack, forklift, and order picker.

  • The desire to maintain an organized and positive warehouse environment. 

  • The ability to operate computers and/or relevant warehouse computer software.   

  • Familiarity and adaptability to automation systems. 

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment 

  • This job is performed in a standard warehouse setting around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory.  

  • The ability to stand and walk for the full length of the assigned shift. 

  • The ability to lift, push, and pull material and objects weighing up to 50 lbs and heavier weights with proper equipment. 

  • The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform various duties.  

  • The ability to operate appropriate powered industrial trucks safely.  Training will be provided. 

 

Salary Range: $70-95k annually, may vary based on prior experience.

Location:  Cranbury, NJ Central Distribution Center. 

Work Hours: M-F, 5 pm-1:30 am.  End time may vary based on how busy the evening is.
