Corporate Returns Specialist

 

Location: Minneapolis, MN or any other Viking Electric Location

Job type: Full time

Schedule: Standard Daytime hours, Monday-Friday (in-office)

Salary: $57,000 – $85,000

*Compensation for this position includes annual salary, 10% short-term incentive bonus, and full benefits package offerings. The exact amount of base salary may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role as well as the geographic location of the role

 

What You’ll Do

To proactively take ownership of the inventory returns leading to prevention & reduction of excess inventory and resulting in improved working capital.

 

 

You will…

  • Maintain monthly cadence for all vendor returns. Use analytical skills and process to take ownership for the timely identification and resolution of unproductive inventories through RMA requests and completion of RPO.
  • Own and drive united direction on vendor returns for the organization. Conversations may include product maintenance actions to alleviate future excess inventory.
  • Negotiate with vendors for return or credit not initially authorized. Utilize all resources available including existing vendor relationships, Buyers, pricing department and management to achieve results.
    • Track and identify final balance of non-returnable items and review with management sell-off opportunities and/or write-off requests.
  • Perform and present root cause analyze and challenge findings leading to excess inventory identify and implement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Category Managers and Buyers to understand product offering strategies and assist with customer returns and defects as needed.

 

 

What You Bring

Requirements:

  • Two years of Purchasing/Inventory Control experience working in a multi-location branch network environment preferred.
  • 2/4-year college degree with an emphasis in business, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel work experience required.
  • Experience challenging the status quo required.
